(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2031) Sec. 8. Necessity for licensure of dentists and applications for licenses. No person shall practice dentistry without first applying for and obtaining a license for such purpose from the Department. Applications shall be accompanied by the required fee. If an applicant neglects, fails without an approved excuse, or refuses to take the next available examination offered for licensure under this Act, the fee paid by the applicant shall be forfeited to the Department and the applicant's application shall expire. If an applicant fails to pass an examination for licensure under this Act within 3 years after filing the applicant's application, the application shall expire 3 years after the date the application was filed. However, such applicant may thereafter make a new application for examination accompanied by the required fee and provide evidence of meeting the requirements in effect at the time of the new application.
