Sec. 13.2. 
Practice of license-pending general dentists.
 
(a) An applicant for licensure as general dentist under this Act may obtain employment as a license-pending general dentist and practice under the delegation of a licensed general dentist. An applicant may be employed as a license-pending general dentist if all of the following criteria are met:
 
 
(1) the applicant has completed and passed the 
 
Department-approved licensure examination and presents to the employer an official written notification indicating successful passage of the licensure examination;
 
 
(2) the applicant has completed and submitted to the 
 
Department an application for a general dentist license under this Act; and
 
 
(3) the applicant has submitted the required 
 
licensure fee.
 
(b) An applicant's authorization to practice under this Section shall terminate upon the occurrence of any of the following:
 
 
(1) receipt of a general dentist license from the 
 
Department;
 
 
(2) notification from the Department that the 
 
applicant's application for licensure has been denied;
 
 
(3) a request by the Department that the applicant 
 
terminate practicing as a license-pending general dentist until an official decision is made by the Department to grant or deny a general dentist license to the applicant; or
 
 
(4) 6 months elapsing since the official date of the 
 
applicant's passage of the licensure examination, as specified on the formal written notification provided to the applicant upon passage of the examination. The 6-month period may be extended by the Department by rule.
