(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028) Sec. 18. Temporary suspension of license. The Secretary may temporarily suspend the license of a speech-language pathologist, speech-language pathology assistant, or audiologist without a hearing, simultaneous to the institution of proceedings for a hearing under this Act, if the Secretary finds that evidence in his or her possession indicates that a speech-language pathologist's, speech-language pathology assistant's, or an audiologist's continuation in practice would constitute an immediate danger to the public. In the event that the Secretary temporarily suspends the license of a speech-language pathologist, speech-language pathology assistant, or audiologist without a hearing, a hearing by the Board must be held within 15 days after such suspension has occurred and concluded without appreciable delay.
