Sec. 70. 
Inactive status. 
 A person who notifies the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the Department may elect to place the person's license on an inactive status and shall, subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment of renewal fees until that person notifies the Department in writing of a desire to resume active status.
 
A person requesting restoration from inactive status shall be required to pay the current renewal fee and shall be required to restore the license as provided in Section 65 of this Act.
 
Practice by a respiratory care practitioner whose license is in an inactive status shall be considered to be the unlicensed practice of respiratory care and shall be grounds for discipline under this Act.
