Sec. 21-701. 
Emergency alert system. 
The holder shall comply with all applicable requirements of the Federal Communications Commission involving the distribution and notification of federal, State, and local emergency messages over the emergency alert system applicable to cable operators. The holder will provide a requesting local unit of government with sufficient information regarding how to submit, via telephone or web listing, a local emergency alert for distribution over its cable or video network. To the extent that a local unit of government requires incumbent cable operators to provide emergency alert system messages or services in excess of the requirements of this Section, the holder shall comply with any such additional requirements within the jurisdiction of the local franchising authority. The holder may provide a local emergency alert to an area larger than the boundaries of the local unit of government issuing the emergency alert.
