Illinois Code § 20 ILCS 3930/4

Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority; creation, membership, and meetings.

There is created an Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority consisting of 25 members. The membership of the Authority shall consist of: 
 
 
(1) the Illinois Attorney General or the Illinois 
 
Attorney General's designee; 
 
 
(2) the Director of Corrections or the Director's 
 
designee; 
 
 
(3) the Director of the Illinois State Police or the 
 
Director's designee; 
 
 
(4) the Director of Public Health or the Director's 
 
designee; 
 
 
(5) the Director of Children and Family Services or 
 
the Director's designee; 
 
 
(6) the Sheriff of Cook County or the Sheriff's 
 
designee; 
 
 
(7) the State's Attorney of Cook County or the 
 
State's Attorney's designee; 
 
 
(8) the clerk of the circuit court of Cook County or 
 
the clerk's designee; 
 
 
(9) the President of the Cook County Board of 
 
Commissioners or the President's designee; 
 
 
(10) the Superintendent of the Chicago Police 
 
Department or the Superintendent's designee; 
 
 
(11) the Director of the Office of the State's 
 
Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor or the Director's designee; 
 
 
(12) the Executive Director of the Illinois Law 
 
Enforcement Training Standards Board or the Executive Director's designee; 
 
 
(13) the State Appellate Defender or the State 
 
Appellate Defender's designee; 
 
 
(14) the Public Defender of Cook County or the Public 
 
Defender's designee; and 
 
 
(15) the following additional members, each of whom 
 
shall be appointed by the Governor: 
 
 
 
(A) a circuit court clerk; 
 
 
 
(B) a sheriff; 
 
 
 
(C) a State's Attorney of a county other than 
 
 
Cook; 
 
 
 
(D) a Public Defender of a county other than 
 
 
Cook; 
 
 
 
(E) a chief of police; 
 
 
 
(F) 2 individuals who report having been 
 
 
incarcerated; and
 
 
 
(G) 4 members of the general public.
 
Members appointed on and after August 15, 2014 (the effective date of Public Act 98-955) shall be confirmed by the Senate. 
 
The Governor from time to time shall designate a Chairman of the Authority from the membership. All members of the Authority appointed by the Governor shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor for a term not to exceed 4 years. The initial appointed members of the Authority shall serve from January, 1983 until the third Monday in January, 1987 or until their successors are appointed.
 
The Authority shall meet at least quarterly, and all meetings of the Authority shall be called by the Chairman.
