No member may receive compensation for his services, but each member may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the performance of his duties. A member of the Council who experiences a significant financial hardship due to the loss of income on days of attendance at meetings or while otherwise engaged in the business of the Council may be paid a hardship allowance, as determined by and subject to the approval of the Governor's Travel Control Board.
