Definitions.

As used in this Act:
 
"Appointing authority" means the person or entity authorized or required by the Illinois Constitution, a statute, or an executive order of the Governor to appoint a majority of the appointed members of a board.
 
"Board" means a board, commission, task force, or other body that is authorized or created by the Illinois Constitution, a statute, or an executive order of the Governor and to which an appointing authority is authorized or required to appoint one or more members.
