Notification to coroner and Department.

Any person who encounters human remains subject to
this Act shall promptly notify the coroner and shall notify the Department within 48 hours of the encounter. Any person who knowingly fails
to report such an encounter as required by this section is guilty of a Class C
misdemeanor, unless such person has reasonable cause to believe that the
coroner and the Department had already been so notified. If the human remains appear
to be from an unregistered grave, the coroner shall promptly notify the Department. Nothing in this Act
shall be construed to apply to human remains subject to "An Act to
revise the law in relation to coroners".
