2a. Transportation to and from summer school sessions.) The school board of any school district that provides transportation for pupils to and from the school attended may provide transportation for pupils to and from school during that period of the calendar year not embraced with the regular school term in which courses are taught for any pupils of the district who might participate, and may make a charge for such transportation in an amount not to exceed the cost thereof, which may include a reasonable allowance for depreciation of the vehicles so used; provided no charge shall be made for transportation of the types of children defined in Sections 14-1.02 through 14-1.07 of this Act and school boards providing such transportation shall be reimbursed pursuant to Section 14-13.01 of this Act.
