public community colleges, and public and private colleges and universities for the purpose of providing advanced vocational training of students who desire preparation for a trade. Such program would utilize private junior college and public community college facilities with transportation to and from those facilities provided by the participating school district, or by the participating school district in conjunction with other school districts. The duration of the advanced vocational training program shall be such period as the school district may approve, but it may not exceed 2 years. Participation in the program is accorded the same credit toward a high school diploma as time spent in other courses. If a student of this school district, because of his educational needs, attends a class or school in another school district or educational facility, the Department of Juvenile Justice School District where he resides shall be granted the proper permit, provide any necessary transportation, and pay to the school district or educational facility maintaining the educational facility the proportional per capita cost of educating such student.
