To maintain and operate a school lunch program in accordance with applicable regulations of the State Board of Education and agencies of the United States government. Equipment to be used in the school lunch program shall be paid for from the operations and maintenance fund of the district or from any surplus remaining in the school lunch account at the end of the school term.
