Dental health insurance policies to include denturist's services.

Notwithstanding any provisions of any policy of insurance covering dental health, whenever such policy provides for reimbursement for any service which is within the lawful scope of practice of a denturist, the insured under such policy shall be entitled to reimbursement for such service, whether the service is performed by a licensed dentist or a licensed denturist. This section shall apply to any policy covering dental insurance which is issued after January 1, 1983. Policies which are in existence on January 1, 1983, shall be brought into compliance on the next anniversary date, renewal date, or the expiration date of the applicable collective bargaining contract, if any, whichever date is latest.
