If the applicant shall pass a satisfactory examination and shall show that he is a person of good moral character and that he possesses the qualifications required in this chapter to entitle him to be licensed as an optometrist, then, upon request, such applicant shall be entitled to a license authorizing the applicant to practice optometry in the state of Idaho. All licenses to practice optometry shall be issued in the name of the Idaho state board of optometry with the seal thereof attached. All licenses issued under the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to annual renewal and shall expire unless renewed in the manner prescribed by the board regarding applications for renewal, continuing education, and fees. License renewal and reinstatement shall be in accordance with section 67-2614 , Idaho Code. The failure to timely renew a license under this section shall require the payment of a fee of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) for a license renewal in addition to other fees which may be required, or other sanctions which may be imposed under this chapter. Every person to whom a license is granted shall display the same, or a copy of the same certified to by the board in a conspicuous part of his office wherein the practice of optometry is conducted. It shall be unlawful for any person to practice optometry in the state of Idaho before complying with these requirements.
