Sentences of courts-martial shall become effective on the date when all reviews provided by this code have been completed. If the sentence includes confinement, the member shall be remanded to the custody of the sheriff of the county wherein the member's military unit of assignment, or attachment, for duty, is located; when the sentence becomes effective, for service of the period of confinement to which the member has been sentenced.
