§502-49 Certificate of officer, or judge, necessary. Every officer who takes the acknowledgment of any instrument shall indorse, subjoin, or attach a certificate thereof, signed by oneself, on the instrument. Every judge who takes the proof of any instrument shall indorse, subjoin, or attach a certificate thereof, signed by oneself, on the instrument, giving the names of the witnesses examined before the judge, their places of residence, and the substance of the evidence by them given.
