§431:9-226 Powers conferred by an adjuster's license. (a) An adjuster has authority under the adjuster's license only to investigate for, report to, or adjust for the adjuster's principal only on behalf of the insurers if licensed as an independent adjuster, or only on behalf of insureds if licensed as a public adjuster. (b) An adjuster licensed concurrently as both an independent and a public adjuster is not permitted to represent both the insurer and the insured in the same transaction. [L 1987, c 347, pt of §2]
