§261-2 Development of aeronautics, general. The department of transportation shall have general supervision over aeronautics within the State. It shall encourage, foster, and assist in the development of aeronautics in the State and encourage the establishment of airports and air navigation facilities. It shall cooperate with and assist the federal government and other persons in the development of aeronautics and shall seek to coordinate the aeronautical activities of the State with those of the federal government. Municipalities may cooperate with the department in the development of aeronautics and aeronautics facilities in the State.
