[§21B-2] Causes for impeachment. The house of representatives shall have the power of impeachment of the governor or lieutenant governor for malfeasance in office, corruption, dereliction of duty, or other high crimes or misdemeanors. Impeachment shall not extend beyond removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the State, but the person convicted may be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment, and punishment as provided by law.
