§171-31 Depository for documents; filing, record. The department of land and natural resources is designated as a depository for purpose of recordation with the registrar of conveyances, all documents pertaining to real property or any interest therein conveyed to the Territory or State or to any political subdivision thereof. The officer in charge of any department of the State or any department of any political subdivision thereof, who is authorized to negotiate for the acquisition of real property or any interests therein shall within thirty days after the execution of the necessary documents involved, file all the documents pertaining to the real property or any interest therein with the department. Two blueprint plans of the real property shall also be filed with the department. All such documents shall be offered for record by direction of the board of land and natural resources and recorded by the registrar of conveyances free of charge.
