§145-24 Authorization to inspect. (a) Every law enforcement officer or other officer or employee having reason to believe based upon specific and articulable facts that the possession, sale, or transportation of agricultural commodities is unlawful, may take reasonable steps to detain the person having possession, selling, or transporting the agricultural commodities and request from the person being detained proof of ownership of the commodities. (b) For the purposes of this section, "officer or employee" has the same meaning as defined in section 145-27. [L 1999, c 186, pt of §2; am L 2025, c 235, §30]
