[§132-44] State fire marshal; biennial report; deadline; contents. (a) Beginning with the regular session of 2027, no later than twenty days before the convening in each odd-numbered year of a regular session, the office shall submit to the legislature a report regarding the activities of the state fire marshal and the counties in implementing this chapter.
(b) The report shall include, at a minimum:
(1) A status report concerning:
(A) Community risk reduction; and
(B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements;
(2) The amount of moneys expended during the previous fiscal biennium for:
(A) Community risk reduction;
(B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements; and
(C) Fire suppression; and
(3) Any recommendations for the state fire marshal for legislative action, including but not limited to current or future resource and funding needs for:
(A) Community risk reduction; and
(B) The establishment, administration, and enforcement of defensible space requirements. [L 2025, c 302, pt of §3]
