License and appointment of sales representatives

Sales representatives for home warranty associations and insurers shall be licensed, appointed, renewed, continued, reinstated, or terminated in the same manner as prescribed in chapter 626 for insurance representatives in general, except they shall be exempt from the fingerprinting, photo identification card, education, and examination provisions. License, appointment, and other fees shall be those as prescribed in s. 624.501. No employee or sales representative of a home warranty association or insurer may directly or indirectly solicit or negotiate insurance contracts, or hold herself or himself out in any manner to be an insurance agent, unless so qualified, licensed, and appointed therefor under the insurance code. A home warranty association is not required to be licensed as a sales representative to solicit, sell, issue, or otherwise transact the home warranty agreements issued by the home warranty association.
