(1) The office may conduct examinations and investigations of premium finance companies under the provisions of ss. 624.307 and 626.601. (2) As often as it deems necessary and not less frequently than each 3 years, the office shall examine each licensed premium finance company. The examination shall be for the purpose of ascertaining compliance by the person examined with the applicable provisions of this code.
