(1) The director of the Division of Aquaculture shall be appointed by the commissioner and shall serve at the commissioner’s pleasure. (2) The director shall supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of the division, exercise such other powers and duties as authorized by the commissioner, and enforce the provisions of chapter 597, the rules adopted thereunder, and any other chapter or rule necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the division.
