Assistant commissioner

The commissioner shall appoint an assistant commissioner of agriculture, who shall serve at the commissioner’s pleasure. Before beginning the duties of the office, the assistant commissioner shall take and subscribe to the same oath of office as required of state officers in s. 5, Art. II of the State Constitution. The assistant commissioner shall be a person qualified by training and experience for the performance of the duties of the office.
