Exemptions, nonagricultural pest control and research

(1) Any person duly licensed or certified under chapter 482, or under the supervision of chapter 388, is exempted from the licensing provisions of this part. (2) The use of the antibiotic oxytetracycline hydrochloride for the purpose of controlling lethal yellowing is exempted from the licensing provisions of this part. (3) The personnel of governmental, university, or industrial research agencies are exempted from the provisions of this part when doing applied research within a laboratory, but shall comply with all the provisions of this part when applying restricted-use pesticides to experimental or demonstration plots.
