(1) As part of the license renewal procedure, the board, by rule, shall require each licensee periodically to demonstrate her or his competency by completing, each 2 years, not less than 10 or more than 30 hours of continuing education in programs approved by the board. (2) The board may allow a licensee to demonstrate her or his competency by reexamination in lieu of satisfying the continuing education requirement. (3) The board may, by rule, provide for continuing education or retraining requirements for candidates failing an examination two or more times.
