Hepatitis B carriers

(1) Any licensee or applicant for licensure who is a carrier of the hepatitis B virus is required to so notify the board. (2) The board shall by rule establish procedures for reporting carrier status and shall establish practice requirements which will protect the public from transmission of the hepatitis B virus in a dental practice setting or during dental procedures. (3) Any report of hepatitis B carrier status filed by a licensee or applicant in compliance with the requirements established by the board shall be confidential and exempt from the provisions of s. 119.07(1), except for the purpose of the investigation or prosecution of alleged violations of this chapter by the department.
