(1) The area offices of licensure and certification of the agency shall provide consultation to the following upon request: (a) A licensee of a facility. (b) A person interested in obtaining a license to operate a facility under this part. (2) As used in this section, “consultation” includes: (a) An explanation of the requirements of this part and rules adopted pursuant thereto; (b) An explanation of the license application and renewal procedures; (c) The provision of a checklist of general local and state approvals required prior to constructing or developing a facility and a listing of the types of agencies responsible for such approvals; (d) An explanation of benefits and financial assistance available to a recipient of supplemental security income residing in a facility; (e) Any other information which the agency deems necessary to promote compliance with the requirements of this part; and (f) A preconstruction review of a facility to ensure compliance with agency rules and this part. (3) The agency may charge a fee commensurate with the cost of providing consultation under this section.
