Department headquarters; acquisition of office space

(1) The headquarters and general office of the department shall be located at the state capital. (2) The department may purchase, build, rent, or lease suitable buildings or rooms for its headquarters, general office, branch offices, or division offices and for maintenance yards and rooms for equipment and supplies in other cities and towns of this state as the business of the department may necessitate or require; and payment for the purchase, construction, rental, or lease of such offices shall be made from any funds provided for the maintenance of the department.
