Florida Code § 287.0831

Limitation on purchases to replace damaged state agency equipment; assessment protocols

(1) It is the intent of the Legislature that purchases of new equipment, machinery, or inventory by any state agency as a result of damage from fire, smoke, water, or any other similar incident be limited to purchases that are absolutely necessary because the damaged equipment, machinery, or inventory is in irreparable condition. (2) By January 1, 2012, each state agency shall develop and adopt assessment protocols for evaluating and determining whether equipment, machinery, or any other inventory must be repaired or restored before any request to purchase replacement equipment, machinery, or any other inventory is approved.
