District Of Columbia Code § 7-736.02

Communicable and Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment Fund.

There is established as a special fund the Communicable and Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment Fund (“Fund”), to be administered by the Department of Health in accordance with subsection (c) of this section.
The Fund shall consist of revenue from the following sources related to the prevention and treatment of communicable and chronic diseases by the Department of Health: Third-party payors; Sliding-fee scale collections; and Other collections.
The Fund shall be used for operations necessary to provide communicable and chronic disease prevention and treatment services.
The money deposited into the Fund, and interest earned, shall not revert to the unrestricted fund balance of the General Fund of the District of Columbia at the end of a fiscal year, or at any other time.
Subject to authorization in an approved budget and financial plan, any funds appropriated in the Fund shall be continually available without regard to fiscal year limitation.
