Delaware Code § 6-2713

Promise of an executor, administrator or other person to pay debt of another

No action shall be brought to charge any executor or administrator upon any special promise to answer damages out of his or her own
estate, or to charge any defendant, upon any special promise, to answer for the debt, default, or miscarriage of another person, of the value
of $5.00 and not more than $25, unless such promise and assumption is proved by the oath or affirmation of one credible witness, or some
memorandum, or note in writing is signed by the party to be charged therewith.
