The Delaware Library Consortium

(a) There is hereby created the Delaware Library Consortium. The following entities are eligible to become members of the Delaware
Library Consortium:
(1) Any publicly-funded Delaware library
(2) Libraries within school districts and charter schools

(3) Publicly-funded institutions
(4) Private and special libraries upon approval of the Consortium
(b) The Delaware Library Consortium shall be supported by the Division of Libraries.
(c) In order to enable public schools to share services including intra-library loans with Consortium member libraries, the Delaware
Library Consortium shall do all of the following:
(1) Facilitate the migration of the library catalog of each of the public schools in the State to the catalog used by Consortium member
libraries.
(2) Provide training in the use of the catalog used by Consortium member libraries to public school librarians.
(3) Integrate public school libraries into the intra-library loan program including providing transit of books and media between
libraries.
(4) Provide guidance to public school libraries in removing from their shelves old and unnecessary books.
(d) The Delaware Library Consortium shall develop and adopt common policies concerning collection, development, and other topics
in order to ensure equitable access and the right to read for all Delawareans.
