Objectives [Effective until June 30, 2026]

The primary objective of the Board of Pharmacy is to promote, preserve, and protect the public health, safety, and welfare. In meeting
this objective, the Board shall develop and maintain a registry of drug outlets engaged in the manufacture, production, sale, and distribution
of drugs, medications, and such other materials as may be used in the diagnosis and prevention of illness and disease and in the treatment
of injury, and shall monitor the outlets to insure safe practices. The secondary objective of the Board is to maintain minimum standards of
professional competency in the practice of pharmacy.
In meeting its objectives, the Board shall develop standards assuring professional competence; shall monitor complaints brought against
pharmacists regulated by the Board; shall adjudicate at formal complaint hearings; shall promulgate rules and regulations; and shall impose
sanctions, where necessary, against pharmacists. This chapter must be liberally construed to carry out these objectives.
