Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program

(a) (1) By January 1, 2025, the Department shall establish and administer a family and medical leave insurance program.
(2) By not later than the date specified in § 3702(a) of this title, the Department shall pay family and medical leave benefits as
specified under this chapter.
(b) The Department shall establish, and make available to employers, reasonable procedures and forms for filing claims for benefits
under this chapter and shall specify the supporting documentation necessary to support a claim for benefits, including any documentation
required from a health care provider for proof of a serious health condition.
(c) The Department shall use information sharing and integration technology to facilitate the disclosure of relevant information or
records so long as a covered individual consents to the disclosure as required under state law.
(d) Information contained in the files and records pertaining to a covered individual under this chapter is confidential and not open
to public inspection, other than to public employees in the performance of their official duties. However, the covered individual, or
an authorized representative of the covered individual, may review the records or receive specific information from the records on the
presentation of the covered individual's signed authorization.
