Purposes of the Board

The purpose of the Board shall be to support, encourage, and promote all of the following:
(1) Accredited general practice residencies in dentistry at any hospital accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the
American Dental Association in the State that will provide a comprehensive postgraduate training program pursuant to the requirements
of Chapter 11 of Title 24.

(2) Expansion of opportunities for Delaware residents to obtain dental hygiene and dental assisting education and training at all levels.
(3) A strengthening of the factors favoring the decision of qualified dental personnel to practice in Delaware, including, but not
limited to, tools such as loan repayment programs as approved by the Delaware Health Care Commission and supporting programs
such as general and specialty dental residences.
(4) Dental needs of the community at large and particularly those who do not have ready access to dental care.
(5) Expansion of opportunities for Delaware residents to obtain training at a reasonable cost in the dental professions.
(6) Incentives for qualified personnel in the dental professions to practice in Delaware.
(7) Support of general and specialty programs as recognized by the American Dental Association.
