(a) Local boards of health authorities and physicians in rural districts or other localities where there are no health officials shall report to the Department of Health and Social Services the existence of any case of contagious or infectious diseases which may come under their observation. (b) Whoever violates this section shall be subject to the penalties provided in § 107 of this title.
