Prohibition on restricting student participation in extracurricular activities due to meal debt

(a) For purposes of this section, "extracurricular activity" includes:
(1) Band.
(2) Clubs.

(3) Homecoming.
(4) Interscholastic sports.
(5) Prom.
(6) Student government.
(7) Graduation ceremonies.
(b) Local education agencies, including charter schools, may not prohibit a student from participating in or attending a school-sponsored
extracurricular activity due to the student having an outstanding debt for unpaid school meals.
