For each day's absence for reasons other than those permitted under § 1318 of this title, there shall be deducted 1/ in the fiscal year 185 beginning July 1, 1999; 1/ in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000; 1/ for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001; and each succeeding 187 188 fiscal year, of the annual salary; 1/ in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1999; 1/ in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000; 1/ for 204 206 207 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001; and each succeeding fiscal year, of the annual salary; 1/ for an employee who is employed for 222 12 months, for each day of unexcused absence.
