Definitions

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them except where the context
clearly indicates a different meaning:
(1) "Board" shall mean the Violent Crimes Compensation Board, as established by this title.
(2) "Person convicted of a crime" shall mean any person convicted of a crime in this State either by entry of a plea of guilty, a plea
of nolo contendere, a "Robinson plea" or by conviction after trial as well as a person found not guilty as a result of the defense of
mental disease or defect pursuant to this title.
(3) "Victim" shall mean a person who suffers personal, physical, mental or emotional injury, or pecuniary loss, as a direct result of
the commission of a crime enumerated in Chapter 5 of this title.
