Assignment and subrogation

(a) Awards and recoveries granted under this chapter shall not be transferable or assignable, at law or in equity, and none of the money
paid or payable under this chapter shall be subject to execution, levy, attachment, garnishment or other legal process, or to the operation
of any bankruptcy or insolvency law.
(b) There shall be no substitution or subrogation, whether conventional or legal, of any indebtedness or right of action by virtue of any
claim of guarantee or surety, agency, lien, payments or advances made, or any claim made by the person convicted of the act giving rise
to any compensation awarded under this chapter.
