Cancellation of a Gold Alert

(a) The investigating law-enforcement agency shall notify the designated media outlets when a Gold Alert has been cancelled.
(b) A law-enforcement agency that locates a missing person who is the subject of a Gold Alert shall notify DELJIS, NCIC, and DIAC
as soon as possible that the missing person has been located. A law-enforcement agency must remove any notifications concerning the
missing person from all law-enforcement media platforms, including social media platforms, and law-enforcement websites within 72
hours of being advised that the missing person has been located. Once the data is electronically removed the law-enforcement agency
must follow retention and disposition requirements under Chapter 5 of Title 29.
