(a) On or after October 1, 1985, each new unvented fuel-burning room heater other than heaters which are fueled by natural gas or propane and which are equipped with an oxygen depletion sensor, shall bear a label, located on the front panel of such heater, which shall include the warning specified in Underwriters Laboratories Standard Number 647, as revised. (b) Warning labels affixed to unvented kerosene burning heaters shall state that consumers shall burn only kerosene labeled 1-K in accordance with the standards of the American Society for Testing Materials in such heaters. (c) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection may adopt regulations in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 requiring the inclusion of additional warnings or information in brochures or other written material accompanying such heaters.
