Livestock or poultry testing by laboratory or veterinarian. Notice of positive test results. Timing. Violation. Penalty

Any laboratory or veterinarian that conducts testing of livestock or poultry in this state shall notify the State Veterinarian, on forms or in a manner prescribed by the Commissioner of Agriculture, of any positive test results for any notifiable or reportable disease pursuant to section 22-26f . Such notification shall be made not later than twenty-four hours after receipt of any such results. Any person who violates this section for a first violation shall be subject to an administrative civil penalty, issued pursuant to section 22-7 , of not more than five hundred dollars, and for any such second or subsequent violation, not more than one thousand dollars.
