(a) The Connecticut Poison Control Center shall annually furnish a list of poisonous plants to trade associations that represent retailers of flowers and plants for publication to their members. (b) For the purposes of this section, “poisonous” means having the capacity to produce injury or illness to a human being or domestic animal through ingestion of the plant. (c) The trade associations referred to in subsection (a) of this section shall annually distribute the list to their member companies that sell flowers and plants at the retail level and shall encourage such companies to make the list available to persons who are customers in their retail establishments.
