(a) The legislative members of the Education Commission of the States representing this state shall be appointed as follows: Two members of the Senate, one of whom shall be appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate and one of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the Senate, and two members of the House of Representatives, one of whom shall be appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives and one of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the House of Representatives. (b) The Governor shall appoint four members to the Education Commission of the States, two of whom shall be the Commissioner of Education and the Chief Workforce Officer. The Governor, or his or her designee, shall serve as an ex-officio member of said commission.
