Attorney general - duties

(1) The attorney general shall provide legal
services for the division and the commission at the request of the executive director, director, or
the commission. The attorney general shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that there is
continuity in the legal services provided and that the attorneys providing legal services to the
division and the commission have expertise in the field.
(2) The commission, the executive director, or the director may request the attorney
general to make civil investigations and enforce civil violations of rules of the commission, on
behalf of and in the name of the division, and to bring and defend civil suits and proceedings for
any of the purposes necessary and proper for carrying out the functions of the division.
(3) Expenses of the attorney general incurred in the performance of the responsibilities
under this section must be paid from the limited gaming fund; except that any such expenses
related to sports betting under part 15 of this article 30 must be paid from the sports betting fund.
