real estate sold upon execution, or pursuant to the decree or order of any court, shall be acknowledged or proved and admitted to record in like manner and with like effect as other deeds. The successor in office of any sheriff or other officer shall have authority to execute deeds for real estate sold by his predecessor upon execution at law, or the judgment, order, or decree of any court of equity.
